Networking Services Overview

Networking Service allows customers to share resources from a central location.  Once a network is implemented, users can share and secure specific items located on the network.  Examples of this are printers, directories, and important documents of the company.  Another benefit of networking is that all of these documents can be easily backed up and stored on media such as tape so that they can be restored in the event of a problem or disaster.  The server stands at the center of all of this activity.  It is one of the most important parts of the network. 

When implementing a network, the main idea behind it is to store ALL data on the server and use your desktop computers as workstations to access this data via the network.  The computers require a network card and special wiring.  Once this is done, sharing of resources can take place.

Networking Services Descriptions

Server Configuration and Installation - The Server Configuration and Installation service starts when we gather the requirements for your server environment by interviewing you with a series of questions.

Once we gather these requirements, we can design a configuration that will meet your environments needs.

• Workstation Configuration and Installation - The Workstation Configuration and Installation Service starts when we gather the requirements.  Based on the customers input, we'll recommend and deploy a configuration for all of your workstations.

• Thin Client Configuration and Installation - The Thin Client Configuration and Installation service is important for those customers looking to do Terminal or Citrix Services.  Since these types of service rely on the server for ALL activities, having the right Thin Client is important.  For example:  If you have Terminal Services or Citrix services but do not have any Network based printers, then you may require a higher end Thin Client.  We will work with you to identify what types of clients are needed in your environment and deploy it.

• Hub / Switch Configuration and Installation - The Hub / Switch Configuration and Installation Service is important to any network configuration.  Since all network activity is dependent on these Hubs and Switches, proper configuration is crucial to a smooth network operation.  Our staff will work with you to design and deploy the right configuration.

• Router Configuration and Installation - The Router Configuration and Installation service is important to any network configuration that has multiple locations, floors, or many many users on the network.  It is also important for any of those customers that want to access resources outside of their network.  An example of this is using the Internet.  When you are accessing websites or sending email to other users outside of your organization, you are more then likely passing through a router.  Our experienced staff will work with you to design and deploy the best Routing Configuration for your environment.

• Firewall Configuration and Installation - The Firewall Configuration and Installation service is essential to any network configuration that will be communicating with other networks.  The best example of this is a company utilizing the Internet.  When you have an Internet Connection in your business, you are connected 24 X 7 X 365.  A Firewall is crucial in protecting your environment & data from "hackers."  Our staff will work with you to develop and deploy the right solution to meet your business needs.  Since there are a lot of options out there, it is crucial to choose the right solution.

• VPN Services - VPN Services are a low cost method of connecting two networks together using existing connections.  This service is important to any organization that has multiple locations but wants to share resources between the two sites.  If the locations have Internet Connections, you can use these existing connections to establish a VPN (Connection or Tunnel) between the two networks.  Some requirements need to be met in order to accomplish this but most networks can be adapted to perform such functions.  Our staff will work with you to design and deploy the right solution for you.

Network Design, Installation and Relocation

The decision to install a new network is often quite easy, but making technology decisions can prove a bit more challenging.  Working from a simple floor plan, we will design and install the cabling infrastructure, utilizing as much of the installed equipment base as practical.  Our complete installation services include pulling cables, installing firewalls, routers, and switches, and supplying any additional hardware and software. We can also supply and configure Windows network servers, printers, network management systems, and backup systems.

How will this be accomplished…  

ü      Working with a representative from your company, we will clearly understand and document your infrastructure needs.

ü      We will develop detailed cable layouts, network diagrams (both physical and logical), as well as server and workstation architectures consistent with your requirements.  Working with your staff, we will review these plans on a timely basis, ensuring that any changes or concerns are addressed early; avoiding costly changes down the road.  

ü       If your new site is under construction, we will coordinate our installation schedule with the general contractor (or other vendors), ensuring that cabling and equipment installation is in sync with your overall project schedule.
