DESIGN
Actually, planning is everything -- the MEDIA CONFLUENCE design team will integrate all your audio/visual, security, LAN, and phone systems, putting the world at your fingertips. We coordinate all aspects of the project, so that wherever you set up your PC, you'll have broadband access to the Internet, your media, and your home automation functions.

We work with the project architects, interior designers and engineers to create the optimum environment, streamlining the feel to the client’s specifications and desires. Once the system is designed, a MEDIA CONFLUENCE Project Manager is assigned to the General Contractor or Project Engineer, and supervises the technicians who pre-wire and install the network.

IMPLEMENTATION

Final Installation and Programming 
All equipment racks are assembled, pre-programmed and tested at our office. Once a system is working here, it is then crated and shipped it to its new home for final installation. MEDIA CONFLUENCE technicians complete the job by connecting the brain to the nervous system, and then testing the whole system. Your entire home / home office is ready to respond to your commands. 

DEFINITIONS

Structured Wiring and Wireless Networks
Structured wiring is an important investment in future-proofing your home – it needs it almost as much as it needs 240/120 volts! Structured wiring provides the backbone to distribute any type of information, via a bundled cable that typically consists of two CAT5E or CAT6 cables for data, and two RG-6 coaxial cables for video signals, or even optical fiber. For new construction, it can be installed along with the electrical wiring very inexpensively, or it can be pulled through existing walls and floors, or run behind the baseboards, to provide a stable multimedia connection in every room of your home. 

Video, especially High Definition TV with its greater bandwidth requirements, is best delivered over structured wiring, but wireless technology is evolving rapidly, and can deliver computer and audio connectivity throughout your home and backyard, without the need for cables to connect devices such as laptop computers.

Whole House Audio and Video
Your media server provides access to your audio and visual content on demand using an all-in-one remote control, which can be either a traditional hand-held device, or a touch-screen display. The media server can be a traditional computer, or look like a standard A/V component, depending on how much expansion is anticipated. It is used to control one or more satellite or cable television receivers, digital video recorders, satellite radio and other audio sources, or it can contain regular or High Definition TV tuners, radio tuners, and A/V recording functions internally. 

Whether the audio/video media is brought live into your home network, or stored on high-capacity hard drives (from 200 Gigabytes up to multiple Terabytes), it can be streamed to any room in your home. For example, if you have two satellite television receivers, one video stream can be sent to the family room, and the other to the master bedroom and the kitchen. At the same time, your kids can be listening to rock and roll MP3s in the basement while you enjoy some jazz in your study. 

There is obviously an extremely wide range of solutions to choose from, and we will help you determine what will meet your specific needs. MEDIA CONFLUENCE offers media server and networking packages beginning as low as $3000.00, and since you are probably in the market for a new computer anyway, this represents only a small additional cost. 

Home Computer Networks 
All of your computer resources can be shared over the wired or wireless network -- all your information is at your fingertips no matter which computer you use. peripherals can be shared as well; for example, you can replace several mediocre printers with a single high-quality printer. Internet access brought into your media server simplifies sharing your broadband connection throughout your home. Firewall and anti-virus solutions can be deployed at a central location, so that maintaining an effective barrier against intrusion and hostile software is much easier.

Environmental Control Systems
The lighting levels for each room of your home can be controlled by the media server, so that you can set it to preset levels for different moods and occasions. This is both convenient and an effective security measure to give the impression that you are at home when you are actually away, especially when combined with preset audio and/or video media activation. These same techniques can be applied to heating and air-conditioning, irrigation, and can also alert you to events such as freezing pipes, even notifying you by email so that you can intervene.

Security / Surveillance
We offer a full range of integrated security systems, and can install surveillance cameras in any area, from the nursery to the front door. The video signal is distributed to TVs throughout the house and beyond using a secure Internet connection so you can watch your sleeping child, see who came to your door, or arm your alarm system from anywhere in the world.
